Colne Radio has been entered into the Aviva Community Fund awards and now we need your help!
We are asking supporters in the local community to vote for Colne Radio to receive a share of the Aviva Community Fund. If successful Colne Radio will receive £1,000. This will help the station with the aim of broadcasting on FM in early 2017.
Aviva has invited local community groups to bid for a share of their community fund. The allocation of the funds is decided on the number of online votes cast.
Once you have registered then you have up to ten votes to use. You can vote for ten different projects – or you can cast your ten votes all for Colne Radio! We would be incredibly grateful if you are able to back us.
Voting takes place between 21 October and 18 November. The 300 local organisations with the highest number of votes will then each receive £1,000 from the Aviva Community Fund.
We are not asking for any of your money – simply your support by voting for us online!
If successful then the funding will help with our FM ambitions. Ofcom has already put its faith in the station by granting us a community radio licence. We were thrilled to receive local support this summer with our crowd funder raising over £5,000.
Any extra money from the Aviva Community Fund will be used to help connect the link between the FM transmitter and our studio.
By becoming an FM station we will be able to partner with local voluntary groups to connect and support our North East Essex community.
Voting for Colne Radio is simple. You just need to register over here, and then submit your votes from 21 October onwards. Anyone who lives in the UK and registers on the Aviva Community Fund website can vote for projects.
Thank you for your continued support.
